Fish for Kings was founded by Wayne Wharton in 1998. Wayne started his career in the fish trade from the age of 15 studying at Falmouth college, where he completed a 3 year course with the highest accolade. This was Wayne's introduction into the fresh fish industry. To learn
the process inside out, he began working on fishing boats and spent 4 years mastering the
trade and learning hands on everything there was to know about the industry.
His next step was a move to London to work in some of the capitals most prestigious fishmongers, including managing the ever popular counter at Harrods.
With this wealth of knowledge and experience, Wayne founded Fish for King in 1998 with
the intention of supplying the capitals premier hotels, restaurants and corporate dining establishments with the freshest, finest quality seafood available, all prepared on a daily basis.
Fish for Kings have established a fantastic relationship with the countries best suppliers over the past 17 years and still supply a large part of the native fish direct from two Wharton family fishing boats, 'Our Josie Grace' and 'Our Olivia Belle' part of Ilfracombes indigenous fleet.
The two large trawlers are part of a co-operative which work towards the sustainable
fishing of the Bristol Channel.
The benefit of this is we can supply the best produce, delivering to our preparation rooms as soon as the vessels are docked. We also use Billingsgate market in London which is less than
1 mile from our preparation rooms and a great location for us to be able to deliver as fresh as possible to our London clients.
Our regular requests are for Salmon, Sea Bream and all types of fish products. All are prepared to the highest standard by our expert team.
